Research Interests

Professor Busenitz’s main research interest is elementary particle physics. He is presently collaborating on the Double Chooz reactor neutrino experiment and the LZ dark matter search experiment. He previously worked on Fermilab experiment E-687 to measure the photoproduction and decay of charm hadrons, on the L3 experiment at CERN studying electron-positron interactions at center-of-mass energies up to 200 GeV, and on the Palo Verde and KamLAND reactor neutrino experiments.

Professor Busenitz received his doctoral degree from the University of Illinois in 1985. After a postdoctoral appointment at the University of Notre Dame, he joined the faculty of The University of Alabama in 1990.
