All requirements for the master’s degree must be completed during the six years (18 fall, spring, and summer semesters) immediately preceding the date on which the degree is to be awarded.

All requirements for the doctoral degree must be completed within the seven-year period (21 fall, spring, and summer semesters) following admission to the doctoral program. A single one-semester extension may be granted in compelling extenuating circumstances. If the time limit is exceeded, the student will need to reapply to the Ph.D. program and, upon readmission, retake classes that were taken more than 7 years previously.
