High Energy Theory Seminar

October 21, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Title: A new candidate for thermal dark matter and connection to neutrino mass

Speaker: Prof. Dr. Bhupal Dev (Washington University at St. Louis)

Abstract:
We propose a new class of neutrino mass models containing both left- and right-sector
fermions under SU(2), which possess an automatic, exact Z_2 symmetry, thus rendering the lightest
right-sector fermion cosmologically stable and making it a good thermal dark matter candidate.
We discuss the DM relic density, direct and indirect detection prospects and associated collider
signatures of the model. We also point out a way to relax the DM unitarity bound by an entropy
dilution mechanism.
