Directions & Parking

The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is located about 60 miles northeast of Tuscaloosa and is the nearest commercial airport to Tuscaloosa. (The airport web site includes a list of commercial airlines servicing the area, and information about ground transportation, including rental cars.)

Driving Directions from Birmingham

Take Interstate 20 (also I-59) West to Exit #73 (McFarland Blvd.) in Tuscaloosa.

Turn right (north) onto McFarland Blvd. and proceed north for approximately 2 miles to University Blvd.

From the exit ramp, turn right onto University Blvd. and proceed west about a mile to Hackberry Lane.

Turn right on Hackberry and you will see the entrance to the parking lot for Gallalee Hall on the left. (Gallalee Hall is located on the Northwest corner of University and Hackberry.)

Parking

If you are an invited guest of the physics department (such as a colloquium speaker), a parking pass will be provided for you once you arrive. The physics visitor parking map outlines the best options for parking near the physics building, depending on when you will arrive.

Getting Around Campus
