Postdoc Chris West Receives 2018 CMS Achievement Award

University of Alabama postdoctoral researcher Chris West was recently awarded a 2018 CMS Achievement Award, for his contributions to the Hadronic Calorimeter (HCAL) project on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) located in Geneva, Switzerland.

The citation reads:

“For leadership of the HCAL Detector Performance Group trigger group through the Phase 1 upgrades of the HCAL Forward and Endcap detectors, the direct improvements to both online and offline aspects of the HCAL trigger, and many important contributions to HCAL online software and operations.”

This award was also won in 2015 by UA postdoc Seth Cooper.
